From Mrs. Ballow…

I follows the Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) pedagogy, which has been developed and practiced inside classrooms by master art teachers over the past 30+ years. In a TAB Studio, the child is the artist; the role of an instructor is to facilitate the students’ creativity, not to dictate what projects and what style or art they choose to do. My students are encouraged to play, to try, and to discover what works -- and doesn't work -- for them. Students are also prompted to spend more than one class period creating artwork, allowing them a chance to dive deep into the planning and execution of projects in their particular area of interest. This type of art education more wholly represents the way that artists actually work, and empowers students to be confident, creative, and critical thinkers.

I moved to Texas in 2001 and currently live in Sugar Land with my husband of 20+ years and high school-aged daughter. Aside from teaching, I enjoy being a "Full-Time Band Mom" and taking photos at football games, marching contests, indoor Color Guard competitions, and other Band events.
