Meet Deborah DeWitty, one of our amazing Volunteers! She studied at Huston-Tillotson University. Being up-to-date CPR certified and the Nurtured Heart Approach equips her to deal with students of all ages. From the early seventies to the mid-nineties, Ms. DeWitty held several state positions. She has been at Shady Oak Primary for almost 6 years now. We are so proud and honored to have Ms. DeWitty on our Shady Oak Primary Team!

After touring Shady Oak Primary, I knew it would be perfect for me. I am a grandmother of three and most recently my two youngest grandchildren lived with me for two years while their mother was working out of state.

My home has always been the beloved gathering place for the neighborhood kids. My youngest grandchildren were seven and fourteen at the time. Although my grandchildren have been gone for two years, I still seems to attract the younger neighborhood kids whenever I am outside.

I have a passion for truly engaging with children and I look forward to working with yours!
