From Ms. Wiese…
I believe learning to read and a love for learning begins at birth. A new mother utters, “Shhh!” as a child enters this world and learning to read has begun with a key element, the sound of /sh/! My journey to learn as much as I could about teaching reading began as a 5th grade ELA teacher responsible for teaching a 5th grade student on a 1st grade level! How was that possible? The pursuit to that answer has guided my educational journey and has opened a path that continues attempting to fine tune and perfect strategies that enable students to learn the building blocks of reading so that learning to read becomes easier. My passion lies in unlocking the mystery of learning to read!
I enjoy traveling, reading a good mystery novel, riding a bicycle, water aerobics, singing karaoke, and love new challenges personally and professionally. One of my favorite past times is playing creatively with my 8 year old granddaughter. God has opened another door as the next chapter begins. I am blessed to be a part of this amazing family at Shady Oak Primary School and look forward to sharing the teamwork to grow successful readers!
