Meet Brandy Rawls, our Assistant Head of School! Mrs. Rawls has a degree from the University of Houston in Behavioral Sciences- Psychology. She has also been trained in Early Childhood Education through 6th grade plus English Second Language (E.S.L.) and in the Nurtured Heart Approach. She has been a part of the Texas Parent Texas Association (P.T.A.) school board for over 8 years, serving as Treasurer for 2 of those years. She also was the facility elected and director of the development team that designed and constructed the school wide project for the National Catholic Educational Association Convention and Boot Expo in 2013. Having been in education for over 14 years with 9 years at Shady Oak Primary, she has served as our Assistant Head of School for the past 7 years. We are so proud and honored to have Mrs. Rawls on our Shady Oak Primary Team!

I feel it’s a true privilege and honor to be able to work at a school like Shady Oak Primary. It is a real blessing to work with such an amazing group of women who are kind and who all share the same desire of “why” they do what they do – which is to inspire students to be the best version of themselves. I love that the goal and philosophy at Shady Oak Primary is to develop the whole child – mentally and emotionally. Shady Oak Primary believes that each student is important and unique as an individual. We strive to provide a positive, nurturing, safe school environment where students can truly learn, grow, and develop into the best young individuals they can be, both academically, and personally. I prefer working in smaller, private school where I can give more one-on-one attention to each child and family.

I was born and raised in the surrounding Houston area and currently live in Richmond with my husband and two children. I look forward to my 9th year as part of the Shady Oak Primary family!
